Feeling Joy -- For School

The Atlantic recently published an article: Joy: A Subject Schools Lack by Susan Engel, January 26, 2015. The article argues that joy should be present in a school setting. At Madrona School, we consciously seek to cultivate joy in a student's daily experience. Engaging a child's imagination,  learning through movement and connecting with the individual each child is becoming, all foster a sense of well-being and yes, joy, in education.
