Creativity in Nature Summer Camps
Two weeks of creativity and imagination at Madrona School Led by Waldorf Teacher Kim Vennerholm
Max enrollment: 18
$350 per week
Week One: Nature Crafting Camp
July 7-11, 8:30-1:00
Ages 7-12
Come ready to get messy and creative as we explore art through the gifts of
nature. Beeswax orbs, paper making, herbal body products, and block
printing are just some of the fun we’ll have.
And of course there will be nature walks, games, and stories to round out the day.
Week Two: Fairy and Gnome Camp
July 14-18, 8:30-1:00
Ages 5-12
Between the ferns, the moss, and the roots dwell the fairies and woodland
beings. The sometimes mischievous gnomes are also out and about on these
magical summer days! Crafts, fairy houses, stories, imaginary play, and the
wonder of nature are how we will fill our days.
Whether digging in the earth or creating art, camp instructor Kim Vennerholm loves to get her hands dirty. She is most at home in the outdoors and spends her free time hiking, gardening, and kayaking. Curiosity, play, imagination, and the wonders found in nature are at the heart of Kim’s work.
She holds a masters degree in education and has taught kindergarten through grade nine for over thirty years. She is a Waldorf educator having taught at Madrona School on Bainbridge Island and is currently teaching seventh and eighth grade at Sunfield Farm in Chimacum.
