More about Teacher Angelica:

Pastimes. I really enjoy spending time out in nature as much as possible. I love knitting and arts and crafts. I think my love for it comes from the fact that I was a Waldorf student myself.

Path to teaching. As a teenager, I found that working with children came naturally to me. When I was in high school I began volunteering at Madrona School and loved it. I was drawn to the Waldorf method and kept returning, learning from veteran teachers and wanting more. One day, the head of school approached me and said "if you ever want to work here someday, we would love to have you." I knew then that Waldorf teaching was something I wanted to pursue.

Teaching goals. My goal is for children to learn the skills they need to get along with their peers, as well as a love for the world around them. They are the next generation, and I hope that the children I cross paths with become great citizens of the world. Children need to be treated with respect, and to know that they are loved and cared for. This is something I put at the forefront of my teaching.

Madrona School. I love Waldorf education. It enriched my life as a student, and now as a teacher. I love that my work has structure and meaning, and each day at Madrona provides that. I also love the beauty that surrounds me at the school, from natural wood toys to watercolor painting. Plus children are so joyful and loving.
