Dear Madrona School parents,
For our fall teacher in-service day, we went for a hike at Green Mountain on the Kitsap Peninsula. We had an opportunity to take a spoonful of our own medicine: immersing ourselves in nature. I felt true joy and contentment smelling the trees, listening to the babble of the creek, looking at the sweeping vistas and raising my heart rate. We spent the day chatting about our work, our school, our community and ourselves. We got so much done, despite having no agenda. At the end of the day we were truly happy to have been in one another's company, experiencing the healing properties of nature together. Our cups are full, and we are ready to bring more of this healing and joy to our classrooms, both indoors and out, and to your children.
Thank you, Jocelyn Waite
Head of School
