Feeling Joy -- For School

The Atlantic recently published an article: Joy: A Subject Schools Lack by Susan Engel, January 26, 2015. The article argues that joy should be present in a school setting. At Madrona School, we consciously seek to cultivate joy in a student's daily experience. Engaging a child's imagination,  learning through movement and connecting with the individual each child is becoming, all foster a sense of well-being and yes, joy, in education.

Open House This Saturday!

Join us this Saturday, January 31, 2015, anytime between 10am - 12pm for our school wide Open House event! Families are warmly invited to come to meet teachers, see student work and visit classrooms.

Curious about painting in the kindergarten? Main lesson books from recent physics and physiology blocks in middle school? Wondering how we teach Spanish? Bring your curiosity and your questions for our teachers and our parent and student volunteers.

This is a great opportunity for our current school families and prospective families alike. Hope to see you there!

Welcome!
